Andre Onana is inching closer to a move to Inter Milan after the Ajax goalkeeper was photographed in the Italian city following a medical with the club.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano posted on his official Twitter account an image of the Cameroonian international after completing his medical with the Serie A giants.

Premier League clubs Arsenal and Tottenham were linked with Onana before the Ajax star reached an agreement with Inter as reported by Goal and TuttoSport respectively.

The Gunners, in particular, were very keen on the 25-year-old shot-stopper in the summer window as a replacement for Bernd Leno, with many supporters eager for Edu Gaspar to sign Onana.

However, as we know, Aaron Ramsdale was instead signed to replace the Arsenal number one, with the 23-year-old keeper proving to be one of the signings of the season as well as a potential England starter for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Indeed, the success of Ramsdale as well as Hugo Lloris improved form means that Onana has slipped off the radar for both London clubs, opening the door for Inter to sign the African superstar.

Inter have landed a bargain in Onana

With TuttoSport reporting that the UEFA Champions League side will pay Onana just £50,000-a-week, the Italian giants are landing a bargain in the January market, with the 25-year-old set to join the Milan-based club in the summer.

Had Ramsdale’s signing for Arsenal not worked out so perfect and Lloris not regained his incredible form, both north London clubs would have no doubt been keen on signing Onana ahead of Inter, who have just bagged one of the best deals of the year.
