Speaking on the Last Word on Spurs YouTube channel, Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has shared what he knows about Tariq Lamptey and his links to Tottenham.
Spurs have been linked with Lamptey for quite some time, most recently by The Express and The Sun, who claim that Spurs are keen on a summer move for the Brighton man.
However, Thomas is led to believe that Spurs aren’t actually that keen on Lamptey right now, stating that the London club have had a long-term interest in the defender, but he says that’s somewhat subsided recently.
What’s been said about Lamptey?
The journalist shared what he knows about Lamptey.
“Tottenham have had an interest in Tariq Lamptey long-term, as a lot of clubs have done. Not at the moment though I’m told. I’ve asked about him in the last few days and I was told that this interest is in the past and it’s not something that anybody is really aware of right now,” Thomas said.

Traore’s spot
Has Tottenham’s interest in Tariq Lamptey subsided due to the seemingly impending arrival of Adama Traore?
The Spaniard is apparently close to joining Tottenham this month, and he’s supposedly coming in to be used as a wing-back.
With Emerson Royal, Japhet Tanganga and Matt Doherty already at the club, it’s fair to say that Spurs have plenty of options on the right side of their defence, and with Traore seemingly coming in, there’s simply no room for Lamptey.
Spurs clearly like the player, but it seems as though he won’t be coming to north London in the immediate future.
