Tottenham Hotspur interim-manager Ryan Mason has said that he cannot believe that his side had a goal ruled out against Leeds United at Elland Road today, as quoted on BBC Sport.

Spurs have suffered a 3-1 defeat to Leeds away from home at Elland Road in the Premier League this afternoon.

Harry Kane had two goals ruled out for offside, as Spurs suffered a blow in their quest to finish in the Champions League places.

One of those ruled-out goals came when it was 1-1, and Spurs interim-manager Mason cannot believe that the decision went against his side.

BBC Sport quotes Mason as saying: “At 1-1 there was an offside decision and I’m shocked. I don’t think it was right. People don’t understand momentum in football and how those decisions can affect you.

“I’ve seen it back. My first look, second look and 10th look tell me that it’s not offside. At 1-1 it’s a big moment. In my opinion they got that one wrong.”

The defeat means that Tottenham are now sixth in the Premier League table with 56 points from 35 matches.

Spurs are five points behind fourth-placed and London rivals Chelsea, who have played 34 games.

With West Ham United in fifth place and Liverpool having played 33 games, there is now a very good chance that Tottenham will not finish in the top four.

While many will sympathise with Mason’s comments, the fact of the matter if that Leeds were the better team and deservedly picked up all three points from the encounter.

Big players such as Gareth Bale could not make an impact at Elland Road, and Spurs will now have to settle for a Europa League spot, if they can still get that.
