Speaking on the BBC Match of the Day Top 10 Podcast, Micah Richards has tipped reported Liverpool target, Kylian Mbappe, to win the World Cup Golden Boot in Qatar.
The BBC pundit was tasked with naming the 10 players he thought would light up this tournament, and, of course, Mbappe was in the mix.
In fact, Mbappe came out on top on Richards’ list, and he’s made the bold claim that the Frenchman will win the Golden Boot.
Richards was even happy to wager an expensive bottle of wine that the PSG star would outscore any of his peers at this tournament.

Richards backs Mbappe
The pundit says that Mbappe will win the Golden Boot.
“He’ll be the top goal scorer, I’m saying it now, I’m putting everything on it, I’ll put another bottle of wine on it. A bottle of wine, an expensive one,” Richards said.
Every chance
Mbappe certainly has a strong chance of winning the Golden Boot here.
As Harry Kane and James Rodriguez have shown at the last two tournaments, these awards are often won and lost in the group stages, and you have to say that Mbappe is in a strong position to tear through his group.
With all due respect, Australia and Tunisia aren’t well-equipped to deal with the Frenchman’s talents, while as reigning champions, one has to fancy France to make a run to the latter stages of the knockout phase as well.
However, with Mbappe recently being the subject of a number of off-field stories regarding his future – including links to Liverpool, he could be unsettled heading into this tournament and not turn up.
One thing is for sure, Mbappe is a player you have to keep an eye on at this World Cup.
