Tottenham Hotspur want to sign Everton attacker Richarlison.

At least, that’s what media from Brazil has been reporting over the past 12 hours or so.

According to UOL in South America, the Brazil international is on Tottenham’s radar after deciding that he wants to leave Goodison Park following a horrific season for the Toffees, who are one point above the relegation zone.

There’s no surprise that the former Watford forward – who cost the Blues £50 million [BBC Sport] – wants to leave Merseyside, in light of the club’s difficulties this season.

But could he join Spurs? Well, potentially.

However, it’s been a difficult last 12 months for the 24-year-old, who has only managed six Premier League goals this season.

In fact, he’s been making headlines for the wrong reasons more regularly than for the right reasons over the last year.

Even Gary Neville slaughtered him last April for ‘selfish’ behaviour, nicking a free kick off Lucas Digne and sending his effort well over the crossbar.

Neville told Sky Sports at the time: “I don’t like it. I never have liked it. Especially when he isn’t down to take free-kicks, which he obviously isn’t as Digne was telling him that. There is an element of selfishness to it, I’m not in the mood.”

There’s definitely a selfishness about Richarlison.

Then again, you could argue the same about a lot of great players.

Not that the Everton attacker is a great player, but he’s still only 24 and he could be much better when surrounded by better players.

And there’s no doubt that Tottenham do have a higher quality of footballer in the squad – not to mention manager, like Antonio Conte – than Everton do right now.
