Richarlison wants to leave Everton but stay in the Premier League this summer, with UOL reporting that Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have shown an interest.
On Wednesday night at Turf Moor, as Everton slipped ever further into the quicksand during an error-strewn 3-2 defeat to Burnley, we saw both sides of Richarlison. The great and the, well, not so great.
The Brazilian international was probably the best player on the pitch, and certainly the best in Everton colours. He scored twice and tortured Conor Roberts to such an extent that Sean Dyche dragged the ragged right-back off with 20 minutes remaining.
He was unplayable at times, irrepressible at others.
But, if Richarlison had not let excitement get the better of him when one-v-one with Nick Pope, hammering straight into the side netting, then Everton would have taken a 3-1 lead before the hour. Minutes later, Burnley equalised.
If Richarlison seals a big-money move away from Goodison Park this summer, those are the sort of chances he’ll be expected to take. Especially if, UOL adds, anyone wishing to take him away from Everton will have to part with £65 million.
Is Richarlison worth £65?

Tottenham Hotspur have explored a deal. As have a Newcastle United side now boasting the financial muscle required to press ahead with a £65 million deal for a player who, while undeniably talented, is far from the finished article.
UOL suggest that Richarlison wants to leave Everton, even if Frank Lampard’s side do stave off the threat of relegation. He’s been targeted by PSG and Barcelona in the past. Now, in a World Cup year, his priority is to stay in the Premier League.
“He’s a world-class attacker in my eyes,” Toffees legend Kevin Campbell told Sky Sports in 2020.
Whether or not you agree, Richarlison is certainly an attacker with ‘world-class’ potential. A move to an ambitious Newcastle United – or a Tottenham side coached by an almost-unrivalled Antonio Conte – could be the key to unlocking that inner greatness.
