Michy Batshuayi is a player Leeds United reportedly want, and the Chelsea striker is rated highly by Illan Meslier.
The Telegraph has reported that Leeds are interested in signing Batshuayi from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
The 27-year-old striker worked with Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa at Marseille and has spoken highly of the Argentine before.
The Belgium international striker spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan at Crystal Palace.
Now, Batshuayi has not been able to make a huge impact at Chelsea and has been out on loan at Borussia Dortmund and Valencia as well.
Patrick Bamford has done exceptionally well for Leeds this season.
The Leeds No.9 scored 17 goals and gave seven assists in the Premier League this campaign.
Some might ask why the Whites need another striker, especially one who is 27 and has not really been a huge success in the Premier League.
However, Bielsa could do with another number 9 who can play as a back-up to Batshuayi and can score goals in his absence.

Leeds goalkeeper Meslier rates Batshuayi highly, and name-checked the striker while looking ahead to the the Premier League game against Palace in November 2020.
Meslier told Leeds’s official website in November 2020: “I saw Crystal Palace in their last game against Wolverhampton Wanderers and they are a good team and have good players like Wilfried Zaha, Jordan Ayew and Michy Batshuayi.”

Leeds goalkeeper Meslier mentioning Batshuayi among the Palace players who are/were “good” underlines how highly he rates the Chelsea striker, who earns £90,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.
At the right price, Batshuayi would be a decent signing for Leeds to play as a back-up to Bamford.
