Arsenal fans are hoping they win the race to sign Gabriel as Napoli are still lingering in the corner for his signature.

Sky Sports did previously report that Napoli have made a last-ditch attempt to sign the Lille defender.

But on a more positive note for Arsenal, the Times have also reported that Gabriel has agreed on a five-year deal with the Premier League club, it’s just a case of the London club putting the money on the table.

In more twist and turns, French outlet, RMC, have claimed that the player will make his decision about which club to sign for in the next 24 hours.

Gabriel’s captain at Lille, Jose Fonte, did make it clear that his teammate is in the ‘process’ of making a move, but he didn’t state where [Read Here].

Arsenal fans will be hoping that they can get Gabriel’s signature over the line, but there is that worry that things may go wrong.

It is a waiting game for the Gunners faithful, who would benefit so much from the signing of the centre-back.

Mikel Arteta may have a number centre-back’s already at his disposal, but as they have proved over these past few seasons, many of them are not good enough for the North London outfit.

Therefore, signing Gabriel is absolutely vital because if Napoli do win the race for his talents then it would be a massive blow for the Premier League club.

Equally, it would be a sign of intent from the FA Cup winners if they do sign the Lille man because, like other seemingly interested parties, they are not in the Champions League, so it shows the pulling power they have.
