If one new transfer rumour is accurate, well Harry Winks has no future at Tottenham Hotspur.
Winks has again found himself struggling for regular football at Tottenham, this time under Antonio Conte.
Former Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo had effectively frozen him out of senior duties shortly before being sacked.
But the England international looked to get a second wind from the Italian manager, though that looks to have passed since.
And if Conte gets his wish, Winks is finished in N17.
That’s because The Telegraph reported on Wednesday that the no-nonsense coach wants two central midfeld players from Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy during the summer transfer window.
And with Winks already clinging on to a place at Spurs by his fingernails, two more players in the same role will bury him in North London.
A departure is definitely on the cards if that Telegraph report is true, but Winks himself might be just as keen to leave.
That’s because in the aftermath of the shock defeat by Brighton last weekend, the Hotspur Way academy graduate unfollowed Tottenham on Instagram.
That’s a pretty good indication that he might be planning an adventure of sorts come this summer.
But if Conte signs those two midfielders, he’ll have no choice but to go.
