Jose Enrique has stated on Twitter that Ibrahima Konate is going to become ‘one of the best centre-backs in the world’ if the Liverpool star can stay out of the treatment.
This comes after Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool secured a valuable 1-0 over Fulham on Wednesday night to increase their slim chances of securing Champions League football for next season.
Ibrahima Konate started at the heart of Liverpool’s defence, alongside Virgil van Dijk at Anfield, with the home side securing their fifth win on the bounce and their first clean sheet since the start of April.

It could be argued, if everyone is fit, then Konate and van Dijk are the best centre-back pairing for Klopp, with Joel Matip and Joe Gomez as back-ups.
There is a lot of talk about Liverpool needing to refresh their midfield ahead of the summer transfer window – the stance on Jude Bellingham has been explained.
But one area they probably won’t need to look at, if the above two can stay fit, is at centre-back, with Enrique singing Konate’s praises.
VAN DIJK AND KONATE
One of Liverpool’s biggest issues this season has been their defence, but Konate has started only 14 Premier League games during that period.
If the 23-year-old was able to stay out of the treatment room, then those tricky away days probably would have been fewer and far between – and a top-four finish would have probably been in the bag by now.
One thing is for sure, Konate has admirers across the Premier League, including from Aston Villa midfielder, Boubacar Kamara.
