Stevie Nicol has urged Newcastle United and Liverpool transfer target Christian Pulisic to secure a transfer away from Chelsea where his ‘going to start’, as he told ESPN.
The Liverpool legend added, if that means taking a ‘step down’ from Chelsea, then so be it, as he used Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne as an example.
The now-thriving midfield star was on Chelsea’s books as a youngster, but he struggled, moved to Germany to earn regular game time, returned to the Premier League with Manchester City and now he is one of the world’s best.

At the age of 24, Pulisic has plenty of time to develop and years to showcase his worth, with Liverpool and Newcastle keen on the £58 million star.
Either way, with the January transfer window set to open next month, he has a big call to make, which was pointed out by Nicol.
“He has to go somewhere where he is going to start,” said Nicol. “If he has to take a little step down somewhere. Other players have done it.
“If Kevin de Bruyne can do it, then Christian Pulisic can do it. But regardless of anything, he has to play on a regular basis and if he does that, then his talent will shine through because he has talent.”

WHERE NEXT FOR PULISIC
Jurgen Klopp has always been an admirer of Pulisic and he might just need another forward player next month, with Luis Diaz suffering an injury setback.
From that sense, it would increase Pulisic’s chances of earning starts for the Reds, if he were to move to Anfield, but they have bigger fish to fry such as sorting out their midfield issues and when Diaz returns, it might be back to square one for the USA international.
A move to St James’ Park could be understandable, but as of this moment, he’s not getting ahead of Miguel Almiron, who is one of the best in the Premier League right now.
