It’s not often you hear Arsenal star Bukayo Saka mentioned in the same breath as Michael Jordan, but that’s exactly what Idris Elba has just done.

You may know Elba as a star of stage and screen, rising to prominence in the acting world with some memorable performances.

The Wire, Luther, The Office, Thor, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Avengers, even Cats – Elba has been unmissable for a long time now.

Did you know that, outside of acting, Elba also performs as a DJ and a rapper. Truly a man of many talents.

In recent days, Elba has dropped his new track on well-known grime channel GRM Daily, starring in the latest ‘Daily Duppy’ – something the likes of Giggs, Headie One and Lethal Bizzle have all taken part in.

Idris Elba shouts out Arsenal star Saka

Football fans had a reason to love Idris Elba’s new track, as he gave a big mention to Arsenal talent Bukayo Saka.

The Gunners teenager is beloved way outside of North London. After rallying support following his penalty heartache for England over the summer, Saka is one of the most popular players in the country.

Elba is a lifelong Arsenal fan, and Saka joined a global legend in one part of the track.

Elba references wearing a 23 on the front, with the video showing a picture of a Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls shirt.

In the very next line, Elba gives a shoutout to Saka too, putting him in esteemed company.

Here are the lyrics to Elba’s mention of Saka…

“Oi, I’m that uncs shelling out them dunks
Like I got the twenty-three on the front
Or I got the seven on the back, 7WALLACE one, got the Saka one
Might catch me at the Emirates
In the dressing room givin’ out daps
Or duppyin’ a verse, ’cause about to body that”

We saw The Manor bring out a track all about Jack Grealish, and now Saka has his own place in music with this shoutout.
