Spurs midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has slammed the commitment showed by Tottenham following their Premier League defeat to Manchester United.
Speaking to Stadium Astro, the £15m Jose Mourinho signing was unhappy with how Tottenham conducted themselves against the English giants. Spurs were played off the park by United in a damming result for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
The Portuguese manager is under increasing pressure after a poor start to the season for the north London club. As well as faltering domestically, Tottenham have played poorly in Europe in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Indeed, Spurs have suffered numerous big defeats in the Premier League this campaign. Moreover, Hojbjerg was fuming post-match after Tottenham’s 3-0 loss to United at home.
The Danish international said: “To show up like this, it’s unacceptable and at home, where there should be fireworks and determination and character really pushing high, it wasn’t there at all. I’d better not say too much.”
Hojbjerg right to slam Spurs after United defeat

Tensions are boiling over at Spurs, and Hojbjerg’s comments after their defeat to United more than highlighted the issues plaguing the club this season.
Tottenham look disjointed, bland, and in serious danger if they continue to play this brand of football. And following the loss to United, Hojbjerg’s comments must turn into a change in mentality for Spurs heading into the week.
