The Tottenham Hotspur ace would not look out of place at Manchester United, Real Madrid or Barcelona, according to Ian Wright.

Ian Wright, former Arsenal player, speaks during a Q&A at the Barclays office during the Barclays Asia Trophy 2015 Ticket Launch day 2 on May 13, 2015 in Singapore.

Ian Wright spoke to BBC Radio Five Live, and suggested that Spurs centre-back Toby Alderweireld is good enough to play for arguably the three biggest clubs in world football – Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United.

The 28-year-old has proven to be one of Tottenham’s most important players, since joining the club in the summer of 2015, making 103 appearances in all competitions in the process.

Unfortunately for Mauricio Pochettino, he has been out injured since November 1st, and the Lilywhites have really missed the inspirational Belgian.

Alderweireld is still yet to agree terms on a new deal with Spurs, although he does still have two-and-a-half years left to run of his current contract with the club.

Wright, though, believes that the Tottenham man could go on to bigger and better things in the game, sharing how he is good enough to play for some of Europe’s most elite clubs, when speaking to BBC Radio Five Live:

Real Madrid's Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo (L) vies with Tottenham Hotspur's Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld during the UEFA Champions League group H football match Real Madrid...

“Alderweireld could go anywhere. He could play for any club. He could play for Real Madrid. He could play for Barcelona. He could play for Manchester United.”

Tottenham still hold all of the cards, however, considering the fact that the 28-year-old is contracted to them for another 30 months, but if one of the three clubs mentioned by Wright do in fact come in with a big money offer for him, it could prove to be hard for Spurs to reject their advances.
