Speaking on the Wrighty’s house podcast, Ian Wright has expressed how worried he is about the prospect of Arsenal coming up against Tottenham’s Tanguy Ndombele this weekend.
The ex-Gunners star was speaking about the upcoming north London derby, and as you can imagine, he wasn’t overly optimistic about his team’s chances after their recent run of poor form.
Wright clearly isn’t blind to the fact that Spurs are a level above Arsenal at the moment, and he’s actually gone on the record to admit that this Tottenham team scares him, particularly pointing out Ndombele.
“I am intimidated by this Spurs side at the moment, simply because when you look at what happened to us with Villa, with someone like Grealish who can run with the ball.
“Look at Son who can run with the ball, Bergwijn, Ndombele, somebody who, Ndombele when he got into that space against City, and then he just flicked that pass, he’s got amazing ability, he’s got fantastic ability, and he can run with the ball. He’s very strong, intelligent player.”

Could you imagine this being said 12 months ago?
Ndombele looked like a huge flop this time last year, but the fact that Wright is now scared of the midfielder shows how much he has improved at Tottenham.
Ndombele has the ability to tear Arsenal to shreds, and Wright knows it.
Gunners fans will be hoping that Mikel Arteta has a plan to stop Ndombele, but with the way he’s been playing this season, it’s hard to envisage how Arsenal will stop him from creating chances.
Ndombele is certainly a player to keep an eye on in the north London derby.
Unfortunately for Arsenal, the Frenchman isn’t the only player Wright is fearing as he’s also spoken about Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in a similar way.
