Ian Holloway is keen to add to his Queens Park Rangers squad.

Speaking to reporters during his pre-match press conference, QPR boss Ian Holloway provided a transfer update, and explained the reason why the club now have money to spend on potential targets, as quoted by Get West London.

The Hoops finally received payment for the sale of Tjaronn Chery, after initially agreeing a deal with Chinese club Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng for the Dutchman on January 13th.

And Holloway discussed his desire to bring in another striker, whilst highlighting the difficulty of signing players during the January transfer window, as quoted by Get West London:

“We’ve got loads of things spinning at the moment. We’ve got the money, but we couldn’t release something so he couldn’t play. That’s methodical and that’s good. If I can get someone that’s right to play with Conor Washington, I think he’s going to score. We had two up (against Burton), and he scored, but I need those choices. It’s not easy to get centre forwards in the window.”

The West London outfit currently sit in 17th position in the Championship table, and are by no means safe from the threat of relegation, with just eight points separating them from 22nd placed Wigan Athletic.

Holloway’s men have been shy in front of goal this term, and their tally of just 27 goals scored in 28 league outings is the joint second lowest in the division.

Judging by that statistic, the addition of another goalscorer during the last two days of the transfer window is surely a must for QPR, if they want to climb their way up the table.
