‘I would take £50 million’: Campbell tells Arsenal what to do with 22-year-old

Kevin Campbell has said that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal should ask for £50 million for striker Folarin Balogun.

The former Arsenal striker has said on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel that if the Gunners are to sell Folarin Balogun in the summer transfer window, then they should ask for £50 million with a buy-back clause.

The Sun reported last month that Arsenal want £35 million in transfer fees for the 22-year-old USA international striker.

West Ham United, Everton and Crystal Palace all are interested in the youngster, according to 90min.

Campbell said about Balogun: “I would take £50 million with a buy-back if you don’t mind. But if it was £30 million, I would still take a buy-back.”

What should Arsenal do about Folarin Balogun?

In our opinion, Arsenal should not rush into selling Folarin Balogun in the summer transfer window.

Now, of course, if a club offers them £50 million in transfer fees, then it is hard to see Arsenal turn it down.

Even accepting a bid of £35 million for a 22-year-old striker who has not made a huge impact for the Gunners would be a very good deal.

However, we do not think that Arsenal should actively try to offload him and accept low transfer fees for him.

Balogun may not have made a huge impact at Arsenal, but the 22-year-old did extremely well in Ligue 1 last season and showed what he is capable of when he is played regularly.

The American striker scored 21 goals and gave two assists in 34 Ligue 1 starts for Reims last season.

The 22-year-old does have the talent to make it big at Arsenal.
