Tottenham are leading the pack for Napoli attacker and captain Lorenzo Insigne, if reports are to be believed.
According to journalist Fabio Santini via Area Napoli, the 30-year-old attacker is unlikely to sign a new contract with the Serie A side, with Spurs eager to pounce on the Italian international as early as January.
Many of Europe’s top sides have been linked with Insigne, yet it appears that Tottenham are the current frontrunners. As per Santini, Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici both want the winger in north London in 2022.
With Spurs lacking in goals this season, Insigne could be the perfect remedy for this problem as well as a kick of motivation for Harry Kane, who has been in dreadful form this season for the Premier League side.
Santini said about Tottenham’s interest in Insigne: “Antonio Conte is crazy about Insigne and would like to sign him as early as January. Insigne is flattered by the interest of both Conte and Tottenham, but he is undecided.”
Indeed, it would be one heck of a coup from Tottenham if they are able to lure Insigne from Napoli in January. And on social media, fans are buzzing about the possibility of the attacker joining.
