Sergio Reguilon has named former Tottenham defender Kyle Walker as the hardest player he’s played against so far in his career.
Speaking to Pro-Direct Soccer’s official YouTube channel, the £32m signing from Real Madrid revealed that the now-Manchester City fullback is one of the most difficult names in the Premier League he’s come up against.
Walker established himself as one of the best fullbacks in world football during his time at Spurs. Before the England international made the move up north to City. And the right-back has continued to assert himself as one of the top players in his position.
Since signing for the Manchester giants in 2017, Walker has won the Premier League title three times and finished runners-up in the 2020 UEFA Champions League. With the defender also shining for England.
Alongside Danny Rose, the duo were one of the most electric fullback pairings in the Premier League under Mauricio Pochettino. And for Reguilon, Walker is the hardest player he has faced so far, alongside fellow City teammate Riyad Mahrez.
The Spanish defender said when asked who his toughest opponent has been: “I think against Manchester City. But not one player, Kyle Walker and Riyad Mahrez. Down that side, they were too difficult.”
Reguilon praise shows Walker’s development since leaving Tottenham

Walker’s move to City in 2017 raised eyebrows given the fee Pep Guardiola’s side paid for the right-back. Yet four years on from the move, the decision has proved to be worth every penny given the defender’s success with the Manchester giants.
The 31-year-old has gone from strength to strength with City. And Walker is arguably England’s best right-back, with the defender playing some of his best football this summer in Euro 2020 for the Three Lions.
