Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has used Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea to make a point about his own team, as quoted on the club’s official website.
The Reds took on Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday evening.
The match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Liverpool had Virgil van Dijk and Thiago among the players missing the Premier League game due to coronavirus.
And Klopp was not happy.
The Liverpool boss has noted that Arsenal and Chelsea, who were also in action at the weekend, could field strong lineups.
Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal
Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “In the first instance we had three cases and then two days later Thiago was positive.
“The Premier League tells us these are pretty much the best numbers in the league; I saw Arsenal and Chelsea play and they have, for me, pretty much their first line-ups on the pitch, but for us it’s not exactly the same.
“There was no chance with four yesterday to cancel the game – and we had no intention to do that – but then today Hendo on top of that for different reasons.”

Does Jurgen Klopp have a point?
In our opinion, Liverpool have been unlucky over the past few days, just as Chelsea have been.
Yes, Arsenal could field a strong team against Leeds United, but the Gunners were affected by coronavirus earlier in the season.
Remember the Brentford game for which Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette wee out due to covid?
Chelsea also have covid issues, with Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner and Callum Hudson-Odoi among the players testing positive.
There is no point in Klopp making comparisons.
The Premier League have to collectively make a decision over the coronavirus issue.
