Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has given his verdict on the squad after their first win of the Premier League season against Norwich City.
Speak on Bein Sports via the Metro, the iconic Gunners manager revealed that he believes the current Arsenal squad is a quality one. Moreover, Wenger admitted that he thinks Mikel Arteta’s side have the potential to claw their way back up the table.
The Gunners finally got points on the board this season as Arsenal claimed a 1-0 win at home against Norwich, who also headed into the match without any points. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s sole goal was the difference on the day.
Arteta is under mounting pressure from fans and pundits to deliver this season after spending the most out of any club in Europe this summer.
Arsenal brought in six first-team players, yet supporters have criticised the names that have been signed.
Yet for Wenger, the Frenchman is confident that the Arsenal squad has the quality to deliver. The FIFA official said: “I must say I find the squad full of quality.”

Wenger later added: “The bad result we made was in the first game against Brentford. After that it puts you straight away on the back foot. I wish them to recover and I think they will. The potential is there so I hope they come back.”
