Thierry Henry has lauded Leeds United and Everton transfer target, Daichi Kamada, as a ‘very good player’ for the Europa League champions Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Japan International, whose contract expires next summer, has been his side’s standout performer in the Champions League this season, scoring three goals as they progressed to the knockout stages.

Kamada scored during Eintracht Frankfurt’s crucial 2-1 win over Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday night, as well as at Tottenham Hotspur last month, only for Antonio Conte’s side to secure all the points.

Nonetheless, added to his seven Bundesliga goals this term, Kamada is hitting top speed and it is attracting the interest of Premier League clubs, including Leeds United and Everton.

Given that someone can secure his talents for nothing in less than 12 months, that’s if he doesn’t pen a new deal, then this is a possible story that’s worth keeping an eye on.

Nonetheless, Thierry Henry shared that he likes the way in which the all-action forward thinks and how he has a knack to find the back of the net, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (01/11/22 at 7:50 pm).

“Daichi Kamada, I came across him when he was playing for Sint-Truidense in Belgium,” said Henry. “I like the way he thinks. I like the way he plays. Typical Japanese player.

“Not really strong, he doesn’t jump too high and he’s not really fast – but he is there (inside the box). What he does very well is that he always appears in the box.

“Yes, it’s an easy goal, but you have to be there to score them. He can’t run past people, so what he does is he lays it off, then make sure he follows and makes it inside the box. He stays alive every single time.

“I really like Kamada. He’s a very good player. Not very explosive, but he will find a way to score.”

KAMADA RISING AND RISING

At 26, Kamada is playing the best football of his career and he will feel that, if he leaves Frankfurt, then his next stop should be a team in Europe.

At this moment, there are no signs that Everton and Leeds will be able to provide that, so it might just put them on the back foot if they try to lure him to their clubs.

Plus, it remains to be seen what Frankfurt do in the Champions League this season, because after winning the Europa League last time out, they will have their tails up for the knockout stages and someone like Kamada can raise his profile even further.
