Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur look poised to battle one another for the signing of Dusan Vlahovic.
Both North London outfits are heavily linked with a move to sign the Fiorentina hitman.
Di Marzio reported in October that Arsenal had struck an agreement with the Italian club to bring him to the Premier League, although the player isn’t convinced by a switch to the Emirates Stadium.
And Tottenham, well the same Italian source claimed earlier in December that Spurs are big fans of the 21-year-old, but that a departure won’t materialise in January.
Seventeen goals in 18 games across all competitions for Fiorentina this season illustrates that he’s one of Europe’s most frightening young strikers.
But it turns out that Vlahovic doesn’t have eyes for Arsenal or Spurs.
According to Italian pundit and former player Massimo Brambati, the Serbian sensation wants a move to Juventus.
He told TMW Radio: “I know for a fact that Vlahovic is interested in the Bianconeri, but the problem is the economic aspect. The negotiation with Fiorentina would not be easy, and then there are other big names after him.
“To date, there are no English teams in talks for Vlahovic. And this is already good news for Juventus.”
Bigger fish
Quite honestly, the Gunners or Tottenham landing a player like this was always going to be a long shot.
The truth is that although they’re both big clubs, Vlahovic will be on the radar of far bigger fish if he continues to score every week in Italy.
Your Juventus’, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City will surely develop an interest eventually and once that happens – which it will – Arsenal and the Lilywhites are dead in the water.
