Arsenal have been linked with tentatively re-signing Serge Gnabry this summer.

The Germany international might be leaving Bayern Munich after their big-money addition of Sadio Mane.

And with Mane and Gnabry both being wingers, the latter, who began his career at Arsenal, could look to quit the Allianz Arena outfit.

According to The Daily Star, the Gunners are keen on bringing the player – who earns £115,000 per week in Germany – back to the Emirates Stadium.

Reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano tweeted out during the week that there was no substance to the speculation at all.

However, Dean Jones has acknowledged that although Arsenal aren’t aggressively pursuing him, he’s definitely on their long list of transfer targets.

He told Give Me Sport: “Gnabry is someone they will have to look into and obviously they know a lot about already.

“It’s true that he’s not a serious option at this moment in time, they’re not aggressively going after him, but he is a background option. I know for a fact he’s on their longer list.”

Mikel Arteta, who played alongside Gnabry at Arsenal, does need another wide man, to be honest.

With the Gunners set to miss out on Raphinha – who wants to join Barcelona – and Nicolas Pepe likely to be leaving North London, there’s definitely room for the Spanish manager to sign another winger.

However, Gnabry could be an expensive proposition and let’s be honest, it’s a tough sell for the player.

After all, this is someone who won the Champions League only two years ago and to go from winning a competition, to playing in its sister tournament the Europa League in such a short period of time, isn’t an attractive proposition.
