Michael Owen has claimed that he knows Arsenal are ‘flying’ this season, but he still can’t see anyone stopping Manchester City from winning the Premier League title.
Over the weekend, both Arsenal and Manchester City won the bragging rights to their city – Mikel Areta watched his team beat Tottenham on home soil, whilst Pep Guardiola’s players put six past helpless Manchester United.
It was hat-tricks galore at the Etihad because Phil Foden reached that feat for the first time in his senior career, whilst Erling Haaland is just a freak of nature.

As for Arsenal, they are also making the ball talk, and despite being pegged back in the first half via a Harry Kane penalty, the Gunners took it up a level during the second half to earn those valuable three points.
After eight Premier League games, it’s the 13-time champions of England that are sitting top of the table, one point ahead of Manchester City, who are now the only unbeaten team in the league.
For this crop of Arsenal players, this is a new feeling, as Owen, despite the London club’s strong start, can’t see past the current champions of England, as he told Premier League Productions (02/10/22 at 4:05 pm).
“On that form, who is going to stop Manchester City?” asked Owen. “I know Arsenal are flying, at the moment and they are at the top of the Premier League table.
“But, over the course of a season, if they keep playing like that, then there’s no stopping them.”

ARSENAL SEARCHING FOR GLORY
If Arsenal secure Champions League football this season, then it’s a big thumbs up in regards to where the club want to head.
In the long run, the fans and everyone associated with the club are craving that sought-after Premier League title.
The last time Arsenal tasted such success was the invincible season of 2003/04 under Arsene Wenger, and whilst it has been a long road during that period, they are closer than ever to add to their three Premier League titles and 13 overall.
It’s pretty crazy to think Arsenal have gone so long without becoming champions of England, but Liverpool ended their 30-year wait a couple of years ago and those in north London will be hoping their success is around the corner.
