Kasey Keller says Liverpool transfer target Yunus Musah isn’t progressing at Valencia, despite his strong performances for the USMNT, as he told ESPN.
The former Premier League goalkeeper added that, after a strong showing for Musah at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, there are now ‘big question marks’ over the midfielder’s development.
Musah came through the ranks at Premier League giants Arsenal, before making the brave call to head for the exit door as a teenager and sign for La Liga outfit, Valencia.

It proved to be a wise move for the 20-year-old because he started to play senior men’s football on the La Liga stage, as well as break onto the international set-up.
But whilst he continues to rise when he dons the US men’s national jersey, it’s not really kicking for him at relegation-threatened Valencia, who are once again in a world of mess, both on and off the field.
There has still been strong interest in the midfielder from across Europe, as Keller shared his thoughts on the player.
“I did Valencia a couple of weeks ago and the question was ‘where is he going to contribute in a more positive manner?’ asked Keller.
“It has got to be frustrating, not only for Musah, but for the Valencia fans and the American fans who are capable of seeing what he is doing.
“He is playing a little differently. He plays a little more defensively for Valencia. But I would love to see Yunus Musah play for Valencia, the way he plays for the US men’s national team. Maybe it’s a confidence level he has come into the national team side? Maybe it’s just a different role.
“You are talking about a Valencia side in the relegation zone. That’s in big trouble. I just haven’t seen the progression for club that I have seen for country. It’s a big, big question mark a lot of us have on Yunus Musah’s development.”

LIVERPOOL TRANSFER LINKS WITH MUSAH
A certain Merseyside giant is in need of midfielders as their disastrous season continues to take hit after hit.
From the most wanted midfielder in Dortmund and England star Jude Bellingham to the 20-year-old Musah.
All have been touted for possible moves to Anfield because, one way or another, at least one, if not at least three, midfielders will join the Reds during the summer transfer market.
