Back in 2023, Anthony Gordon was repping the colours of Everton and now Nolan finds it ‘strange’ that Liverpool could sign him.
Eddie Howe sent Gordon a message regarding the Liverpool interest, with the winger joining Newcastle United during the winter transfer window of 2023.
Nolan questioned who is behind this possible move because he also raised concerns as to whether Newcastle ‘need to sell now’, as he told talkSPORT (24/07/24 at 8:25 am).

“I just find it strange, obviously with the Everton connections, I know that he is a Liverpool fan, isn’t he?!” said Nolan.
“I find it strange that it has come that quick. Do they need to sell now Newcastle? Is this driven by the player or is it driven by the club? And is that is why the odds (of Gordon joining Liverpool) are the way they are.”
Luis Diaz’s future
The issue with this Gordon talk is that he isn’t someone they need because they have plenty of players to fill that left-sided role.
Defensive players are needed, and several of them, but if anything happens with Gordon, then you have to question what that means for a player like Luis Diaz.
