Juventus legend Fabrizio Ravanelli has predicted Aaron Ramsey to flourish at Rangers despite years of stagnation in Italy with the Serie A giants.

Speaking to the Sunday Post, the five-time Scudetto winner and UEFA Champions League champions claimed that a return to Britain could be what Ramsey needs to restart his career, with Rangers an ideal club for the Welsh international.

Ramsey’s deadline day loan move to the Scottish champions was one of the shocks of the January transfer window, with Rangers landing one of the best midfielders to play in the Premier League in recent years as well as a star player for the Wales national team.

With the midfielder linked to a return to England, Rangers was a surprise destination for Ramsey, who could make his debut later today against Hearts in the Scottish Premiership.

Whilst Ramsey’s time at Juventus was overall a failure, Ravanelli has predicted the midfielder to flourish with Rangers, who could prove to be the perfect club for the Welshman.

Ravanelli said: “The return to play in Great Britain can be a good chance for him. Having played in England for so many years, Ramsey won’t need time to get used to playing in Scotland.

“The Scottish Premiership is not exactly the same as the Premier League, but it does have characteristics in common. I hope that Ramsey will find his natural habitat at the Glasgow Rangers, and that he will go back to being the player he was, a man who makes a difference on the football pitch.”

Ramsey can play a key role in Rangers retaining the SPL title

With the former Arsenal star missing Rangers’ midweek Old Firm loss to Celtic, Ramsey could be in line to feature this Sunday against Hearts. And as mentioned by Ravanelli, the midfielder could revive his career in Scotland and aid the Glasgow giants to the title.

Indeed, the SPL title race this season is set to go down to the wire, and with Rangers securing one of the signings of the window in Ramsey, the Gers have a midfield talent who could single-handily push them to a second consecutive title.
