Speaking on Tottenham Hotspur’s YouTube channel, Heung-Min Son has been full of praise for former Spurs star Mousa Dembele.
The 34-year-old is currently plying his trade in China after Spurs let him go back in 2019, but his former teammates seemingly still have very fond memories of the Belgian.
Son was playing a game alongside Spider-Man star Tom Holland where he had to pick out Spurs equivalents of certain superheroes, and when it came to choosing who Tottenham’s Thor was, Son and Holland both agreed on Dembele.
What’s been said about Dembele?
Son and Holland were playing a game where they had to compare certain Marvel heroes and they both agreed that Dembele shares some similarities to Thor.
“Thor, the God of Thunder and the son of Odin. Thor never hesitates to take on any foe and is very impulsive in his approach. Despite his strength and size, Thor is very nimble and agile in battle. It’s got to be Mousa,” Tom Holland said
“Mousa he is incredible. I haven’t seen a player like this. I have never seen this. Yeah, I would say Mousa,” Son concluded.
What a player
Son describes Dembele as incredible, and he’s not wrong.
Interestingly, Holland’s description of Thor perfectly sums up the Belgian midfielder.
He was a strong and imposing midfielder, but somehow, he always retained a level of skill and agility that you would associate with someone half his size.
Unfortunately, Tottenham haven’t been able to find a player quite like Dembele since they let him go to China, but a player this talented really only comes around once in a blue moon.
Dembele was an absolute gem, that’s for sure.
