Hugo Lloris has been speaking to the Evening Standard about Nuno Espirito Santo’s situation at Tottenham, as well as Tanguy Ndombele.
What’s the story?
Well, the France international called for unity, and backed Nuno to turn Tottenham’s poor form around.
Lloris also backed his fellow countryman Ndombele to resurrect his Spurs career, claiming that he has his ‘energy’ back.
The Tottenham No.1 said: “Honestly, I think he’s ready, his mind is ready. He’s here with a smile, he’s connected with the team and that’s the most important thing. Obviously, it’s the manager’s decision to play him or not play him, but I can feel his energy is back. And, for sure, he’s going to perform. I have no doubt about that.”
It’s good to see Tottenham’s captain come out and defend his manager, and also a struggling teammate of his.
Times are tough in N17 right now, and it’s very easy for everything to fall apart when things are going against you.
You need your leaders to step up and steady the ship, which is exactly what Lloris seems to be doing.
Tottenham need more from Tanguy Ndombele

If Ndombele’s energy really is back, we need to start seeing it soon.
Against Arsenal, the £53.8m man could be seen jogging back as Bukayo Saka ran through and assisted Emile Smith Rowe’s goal.
It was a display Jermaine Jenas describing as ‘shocking‘ on Match of the Day.
We all know just how talented Ndombele is with the ball at his feet – his dribbling is superb, and he has the ability to cut defences apart.

However, that’s all useless if you don’t do the work off the ball, which is where Nuno Espirito Santo is struggling with his No.28.
If he fails to perform this season, it might be time to cash in while Spurs can still recoup a fair chunk of his £53.8m fee.
Another poor campaign after this one, and few clubs at the top level will want to take Ndombele off Tottenham’s hands.
