Jose Enrique has warned Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool about possibly securing a transfer deal for Juventus and France midfielder, Adrien Rabiot.

Whilst the former Liverpool left-back agrees that Adrien Rabiot is a ‘quality’ player, he stated that he has been told that the 27-year-old ‘isn’t the best’ off the pitch.

Come the summer, those on Merseyside won’t be hunting for just one or two midfield players, but probably three or more as they look to revamp and refresh their declining midfield.

In terms of Rabiot’s profile as a player, he has the physical qualities, aggression without the ball and ball-carrying ability to work for Liverpool.

That’s why the Reds, alongside Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United, are keen on the player, although, rumours suggest that he is going to ‘stay’ at Juventus despite those approaches.

Nonetheless, whilst Enrique wants Liverpool to bring in new faces this summer, he doesn’t want to see Rabiot through the club’s doors, as he told his own YouTube channel.

“The problem with Rabiot, obviously all this information I am giving, I have been given this information,” said Enrique. “Off the pitch, he’s not the best. The quality is there. He plays for Juventus and France. He has been a World Cup champion, so the quality is there.

“Why not many more clubs have been jumping in the past to him? That’s my big question. I have heard a lot of things about him. It doesn’t mean he is a bad guy, or whatever.

“From what I heard about him. I don’t think he is the profile of a player that will fit with Klopp. As a player and quality, I can see it. He has the ability. He plays for France, one of the best national teams in the world and he is starting, then the midfield of France is world-class.

“But maybe it’s not the best signing for us.”

LIVERPOOL’S MIDFIELD REFRESH

The likes of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will head for the exit door in the summer when their contracts expire.

In truth, that has been part of the problem. Liverpool waiting for their star players’ contracts to run out, before they replace them, rather than selling them off and being pro-active in the market.

Gini Wijnaldum, Adam Lallana and Divock Origi are prime examples, as the above players will join that list in the summer.

Either way, a refresh is needed on Merseyside and the bulk of the money, if FSG put their hands in their pockets, needs to be slapped on the midfield.
