Dimitar Berbatov blasted Hugo Lloris for deciding to kick the ball long prior to Arsenal’s second goal against Tottenham Hotspur in the north London derby on Sunday.
The 37-year-old, who had earlier scored an own goal for Arsenal’s opener, with the ball in his hands decided to punt the ball long to Harry Kane rather than throw it out or roll it to a teammate near him.
Kane wasn’t exactly in a position to win that header, and instead, Willian Saliba won the aerial duel, which then led to Bukayo Saka picking up the ball, feeding Martin Odegaard inside, who shot from distance to double his side’s lead.

Whilst Aaron Ramsdale secured a clean sheet and won the Man of the Match award on one end, it was a game to forget for his counterpart.
Against Aston Villa, Lloris was at fault for the Midlands side opening the scoring, and once again, he was providing the opposition with a helping hand.
But his actions, just before Odegaard’s goal, left Berbatov frustrated as he stated that he ‘hates’ when a goalkeeper does that, as he told Premier League Productions (15/01/23 at 6:45 pm).
“It is (frustrating),” said Berbatov. “I hated kicks like this. I don’t know if you (Ian Wright) enjoyed it?!”
The Arsenal legend responded by saying: “No, I am not too big enough to enjoy it.”
Berbatov added: “What do you expect?! Kane to just flick the ball to Son. But then everyone is out of position when you have a team as strong as Arsenal, at the moment, then this is what happens.
“Don’t let players like this shoot (Odegaard goal). You try your best to block – but the goal kick was a silly one. He should know better.”

LLORIS COSTING SPURS
There are a few people upstairs that need to take responsibility for this Lloris situation because he shouldn’t be Tottenham’s number one.
But the problem is that who has there been to replace the player? Yes, fans would argue Fraser Forster is a better option right now.
But, at the end of the day, there hasn’t been a number one looking to dethrone the recently retired French international.
Bernd Leno was Arsenal’s number one and performing well when Ramsdale was purchased for big-money, yet fast forward to the present and it’s proven to be a masterstroke of a move.
