Tammy Abraham has labelled Tottenham transfer target, Nicolo Zaniolo, as a ‘fast and strong’ player for Jose Mourinho’s Roma, as he told his pre-match press conference.

The Roma forward added that Zaniolo is someone who he ‘enjoys playing with’ and he is a player that takes the pressure off his shoulders.

There are suggestions that Mourinho’s side are willing to let the 22-year-old leave when the transfer window re-opens.

Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb did claim that Zaniolo won’t be signing a new contract in Rome.

If that’s the case, then Abraham, who is thriving in Serie A, won’t be playing alongside him for too long, but for now, he praised his teammate.

“We have had time to play with each other in more games,” said Abraham. “The understanding is better, for me.

“I understand the kind of player he is and he understands the kind of player I am. Playing with him takes all the pressure off me.

“He’s strong, fast and he can run in-behind. He can go to feet, so it helps me a little bit. I could play my game without worrying. And be more free.

“So, with him, I can just be myself and I can just be more free because he takes some pressure off me. I enjoy playing with him.”

When Spurs had Mourinho in the dugout, they sacked him one week before the League Cup final.

As a result, their wait to end their trophy drought continues, as Antonio Conte is now tasked with trying to end that.

If the Italian is to succeed, then he needs the help and added quality from the transfer market.

All of that stems from how far Daniel Levy is willing to dig deep into the club’s pockets and keep Conte happy, if not, then the reaction won’t be pleasant.
