Gary Neville has criticised Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur on his podcast for their performance against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the North London derby on Saturday afternoon.
The former Manchester United star has said that Tottenham were “awful” against Arsenal in the Premier League game.
Spurs suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Arsenal in North London.
Emerson Royal was sent off for Tottenham in the second half.

Neville said: “Yesterday I thought Spurs were awful. I don’t think we should apologise for saying that. I thought their ambition was poor, I thought that they played too deep.”

Bouncing back
In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur will have to bounce back from the defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the North London derby in order to make sure that they keep up in the race for the Premier League top four this season.
Now, while Spurs did well in the first half against the Gunners and had chances, overall Arsenal were the better team in the North London derby and showed more desire to attack.
Tottenham do tend to play on the counter-attack a lot of the times under head coach Antonio Conte.
That is not always a bad strategy, but perhaps Conte should show more attacking intent as well.
Tottenham will take on Eintracht Frankfurt away from home in Germany in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday evening before facing Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League next weekend.
