The sea change at Tottenham Hotspur from their previous managers to Ange Postecoglou has been like night and day.
Historically, Tottenham teams of the past, whether it’s those winning trophies in the 1980s or those going through troubles now, have always entertained the supporters with a front-foot style of play.
After his dominance and Treble-winning season at Celtic, the craze of the no-nonsense Ange Postecoglou swept from Glasgow to London.
Harry Redknapp lauded Ange Postecoglou and how he ‘knows the game’ and is getting the best out of the attacking might he has at his disposal at Tottenham, as he told talkSPORT.
But the former Spurs boss did admit this ‘Ange ball’ that gets thrown around by the media and fans is baffling to him because ‘I don’t even know what it is’.
Over the weekend, the negative side of that style of play reared its ugly head because Wolves came to town and walked away with a deserved 2-1 win, with Pedro Neto proving to be the star of the show.
Some feel the Champions League-chasing side are now too top heavy and they need to reign it in, with Harry Redknapp making it clear that the man in the dugout ‘isn’t a fool’ and he is ‘adaptable’.
Ange Postecoglou’s style of play
“You play with the hand you are dealt with,” said Redknapp. “He has got a lot of very good attacking options, that’s why they have suddenly been a very attacking team.
“I mean, everybody says this ‘Ange ball’ or whatever. What is it? I don’t even know what it is.
“He has got three forwards, Maddison is back in there, but lots of very flair-type players, which is great because the fullbacks like to get forward. They were both missing at the weekend, unfortunately. They had to make two changes there.
“But he is adaptable. He knows the game. He isn’t a fool. I just think Wolves are a very good side. They have got good attacking options and Gary O’Neil has done a very good job.”

Is the upcoming break needed for Tottenham?
With Chelsea competing in the League Cup final against Liverpool on Sunday, it means Spurs’ Premier League showdown against their London rivals is postponed.
That provides the team with a break, but is it needed? Perhaps to allow injured players such as Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro to return it is.
But, in truth, after losing to Wolves, you just want to get back out there. Plus, you don’t want to lose ground in the race for fourth spot.
Yes, Spurs will have that game in hand to play, but if Aston Villa beat Nottingham Forest on Saturday, then they go five points clear and, at the end of the day, you would rather have points on the board.
