Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has told The Guardian that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp still believes that he can win the Premier League title this season.
Defending champions City are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 60 points from 24 matches.
Liverpool are second with 51 points from 23 games.
As reported by The Guardian, Liverpool manager Klopp played down his side’s chances of winning the title after beating Leicester City at Anfield in the Premier League on Thursday evening.
City boss Guardiola believes that Klopp still thinks that Liverpool can catch City.
Pep Guardiola on Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp
Guardiola told The Guardian: “Just I don’t believe him. Absolutely [it’s possible] and he thinks the same, otherwise he wouldn’t be the competitor that he is.
“Of course he believes. In football, everything can happen. He knows that he has to win a lot of games, like we know we have to win a lot of games to fight to be champion again.
“Both teams have shown over the years that they can make an incredible run of victories in a row. Both have the same managers, more or less the same squads and ideas. Both could make 16, 17 wins in a row. They can do it – we can do it, too.”

Catching Manchester City
In our view, Liverpool can still catch Manchester City and win the Premier League title this season.
The Reds did well over the past few weeks when Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were away on international at the Africa Cup of Nations.
And now both Salah and Mane are back.
And Liverpool signed winger Luis Diaz from FC Porto in the January transfer window.
Harvey Elliott is also back from injury.
Moreover, if Liverpool win their game in hand, then they will be only six points behind Manchester City.
Yes, only six.
So, in our opinion, the Premier League title race is far from over.
