Rangers centre-back Connor Goldson has said that he is yet to hear anything from the club about signing a new contract with the Scottish giants.
Speaking to the press ahead of tomorrow’s UEFA Europa League clash against Brondby via the Daily Record, the 28-year-old centre-back revealed that there has been no movement over a new deal with the club.
Goldson’s contract with Rangers is due to expire next summer. The defender signed from Brighton in 2018, and since his arrival the former Premier League centre-back has become one of the club’s most important players.
However, despite playing a key role in Rangers’ Scottish Premiership winning season, Goldson is yet to be offered a new contract with the club. The defender reportedly earns £27,000-a-week.
Indeed, with January slowly approaching us, Goldson will soon be able to agree on a pre-contract with a rival club. And according to the defender, he is yet to hear anything regarding a new deal from Rangers.
“No, I haven’t heard anything. I haven’t really spoken to my agent or the club recently so I couldn’t tell you where it’s at. But I’m just focused on the club, playing football & making sure this club wins.”
Rangers have got to resolve Goldson’s contract soon

Goldson was integral to Rangers’ historic season last year. And with his contract set to expire in a few months, Steven Gerrard’s side have got to start putting in plans in motion to tie the defender down to a new deal.
The defender started every league last season for the Gers. And at 28, Goldson is in the prime of his career. And given his exceptional quality, top sides will be eying the defender in January if his contract situation isn’t resolved.
