Bukayo Saka was on the scoresheet yesterday in Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Newcastle, and the 20-year-old attacker celebrated the goal in the same manner former playmaker Mesut Ozil did.
Eagle-eye supporters on social media noticed that the 14-cap England international celebrated the opening goal at the Emirates Stadium with the German’s signature ‘M’ hand sign.
Ozil was key to Saka’s development at Arsenal, with the now-Fenerbahce playmaker reportedly a mentor to the Hale End academy graduate. And it appears that the winger has learnt more than just football from the midfielder.
Indeed, Saka has developed into one of Arsenal’s most important players since Ozil’s last appearance for the club at the start of 2020. With the attacker bagging a crucial goal against Newcastle this weekend.
Arsenal solidified their fifth-place position in the Premier League with a 2-0 win against Newcastle. And with Wolverhampton Wanderers drawing with Norwich City and Tottenham’s game being suspended, it has been another successful weekend for the Gunners.
With both Saka and Gabriel Martinelli on the scoresheet, it was a great fixture for Arsenal’s young players, with the likes of Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga also impressing.
Arsenal fans loved Saka’s take on Ozil celebration

Yet it was Saka’s celebration that caught the eyes of Arsenal fans on social media, with fans loving the attacker’s hommage to Ozil, who left the club in January of this year.
