Ian Wright has taken aim at Ryan Sessegnon for his performance in Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat by Arsenal tonight.
It was a first 45 minutes to forget for Spurs and, in particular, the 22-year-old.
Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka tormented the Tottenham youngster on a regular basis throughout the first half.
Saka forced the Gunners’ opener by getting around the former Fulham left-back and firing in the cross which Hugo Lloris fumbled into his own net.
And legendary Arsenal hitman Wright has admitted that he couldn’t believe how poor Sessegnon was.
He said live on Premier League Productions [5:25pm]: “I cannot believe Sessegnon’s not going to stop him. He hasn’t done anything to stop him [Saka] or slow him up. At least though, he’s got to get close to him.”

It was a less active second half for Sessegnon in a defensive sense.
But he could – and should – have halved the deficit early in the second half, when released by Harry Kane.
However, Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale denied him with a good save but again, Sessegnon probably should’ve scored.
It was a disappointing overall display from the Mauricio Pochettino signing from 2019 and although this defeat is bigger than just him, he didn’t help a great deal.
