One of the players Mikel Arteta got rid of from Arsenal is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Gunners legend Ian Wright is pleased to see the striker flourishing away from the Emirates Stadium.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018 for £56 million (BBC Sport). The striker left the Gunners by mutual consent on February 1, 2022.
While things got sour for Aubameyang towards the end of his time at Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta has been lauded for getting rid of him, there is no doubt that he was a success at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gabon international striker made 163 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 92 goals in those games.
After a short spell but successful spell at Barcelona, he joined Chelsea and he is now at Marseille.
Marseille beat Villarreal 4-0 at home in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 tie in midweek.
Ian Wright praises former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Aubameyang scored two goals, one from the penalty spot, and Arsenal legend Ian Wright is pleased to see the 34-year-old flourishing away from Arsenal.

Wright said about Aubameyang on the Wrighty’s House podcast: “I saw Auba’s goal. I don’t know if it was a cross.
“The only reason why I say that is because there is somebody in the box where you are thinking from the angle that Auba is at, you know I mean, was he trying to lift that to the far post? Do you know what I mean?
“I will take it. I will take it. What has he got, 22 goals this season? I am really pleased for him.”
