Paul Scholes has told Mikel Arteta to ‘keep his emotions in check’ following Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, as he told Premier League Productions (22/01/23 at 7:15 pm).
The Manchester United legend shared that he wouldn’t want his manager to be as emotional as Arteta, as he warned that this is also ‘the youngest team’ in the Premier League.
In the first half of the five-goal thriller, Arteta was shown a yellow card by Anthony Taylor after he came out of his technical area and disputed a challenge on Bukayo Saka.

There is previous with the Spanish coach because he was heavily criticised for his actions during the goalless draw against Newcastle United, with Alan Shearer claiming that he was ‘disrespectful’ towards his side.
Whilst Arteta wasn’t booked during that game, he was this time around, with Sky Sports commentator Martin Tyler sharing that officials recently held a meeting regarding the behaviour of managers.
Well, after Arsenal’s win over Manchester United, Paul Scholes has now shared his own thoughts.
“It’s going to be a big test for Arsenal to keep those emotions in check,” said Scholes. “The manager is the most emotional person I have seen. He is up and down the line.
“I am not sure I would like to see my manager like that, all over the place all the time. He is the most important one. Whatever he does will transfer to them players. Them young players, the youngest in the Premier League, they totally believe in everything he is telling them.
“So, I think it’s important that the manager keeps his emotions in check.”

IT’S WORKING SO FAR…
Those from the outside might moan and groan at Arteta’s actions, but at the end of the day, it’s working.
Arsenal are winning and flying high in the Premier League, so why will he stop?!
Arteta’s only issue is that he was booked pretty much straight away against Manchester United, so if that continues to happen, then he might have to relax a little.
Other than that, Arsenal fans are in dreamland because, not only are they top of the league, but they are putting in performances of a team that wants to be champions and are worthy of claiming that crown.
