Reported Leeds target Giovanni Simeone has admitted that he wants to move away from Cagliari one day, earmarking Spain and England as two countries that he is keen to play in.

Cagliari’s president has previously admitted that Leeds are admirers of Simeone, and the Argentine has seemingly opened the door for a potential move to the Premier League with this honest admission.

The striker was speaking to Marca, and they asked if he’ll ever move to La Liga at some point in the future.

“I hope so. I’m happy at Cagliari, but I am keen to move at some point in my career in order to keep growing. I like Spain and England a lot. Playing in other countries makes you a better player. If that’s in Spain, it will be very welcome,” Simeone said.

Simeone seems open to a move, so if Leeds can make the right offer financially, there seems to be very little reason as to why he wouldn’t come to Elland Road.

The Cagliari star already has some links to Leeds, with his father, Diego Simeone admitting that Bielsa is one of the biggest influences in his managerial career.

Of course, Diego played under Bielsa for the Argentina national team in the early 2000s, so Giovanni may be familiar with what he can offer him at Leeds.

Of course, this deal going through depends on a lot of things, and Simeone won’t be short of suitors after netting five goals in seven Serie A appearances.

Only time will tell whether or not Simeone’s Premier League dream becomes a reality.
