Prior to Danny Ings donning the colours of West Ham United, he was continually linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Back in 2020, when playing for Southampton, it was suggested that Tottenham held a ‘strong interest’ in Danny Ings to play as a back-up to Harry Kane.
Those links continued into 2021, as Spurs fans cried out for more quality in depth to be added to their squad, but Daniel Levy never seemingly pushed the boat out – has anything even changed to this present day?!

At the time, Danny Ings would have been the perfect foil for someone like Kane because, over two seasons, he had netted 34 Premier League goals.
Well, the 30-year-old, after securing a £15 million transfer from Aston Villa to West Ham in January (Sky Sports), has shared that he ‘always’ had the desire to rep a team in London during his career, as he told Stadium Astro.
“I have always wanted to play for a London club at some point in my career and I thought now was the perfect time,” said Ings.

SPURS WOULD HAVE GOT INGS…IF THEY PUSHED
From Burley to Southampton, the quick-thinking poacher has many clubs on his CV, so perhaps, if Spurs did come knocking, then they would have got their man.
If he ‘always’ had the desire to play for a London club, then perhaps, with Tottenham in the Champions League, he would have been happy to play second fiddle to Kane.
Now he is donning the colours of West Ham United, and whilst it has been a slow start for the Englishman, he has the chance to fire the club to Europa Conference League glory during these coming weeks.
