Gary Neville has stated that ‘I admire’ players like Jamal Musiala leaving Chelsea, with Liverpool now supposedly keen on signing the Bayern Munich and Germany midfielder.
The 19-year-old left Chelsea in 2019 in order to find first-team football, and fast forward to the present, and he played a key role in Germany securing a point against Spain at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar – a defeat would have knocked the 2014 champions out.
The former England U21 international, who played alongside Jude Bellingham, could have repped the Three Lions, but instead, he kept with the country of his birth and now he is shining bright.

From Jadon Sancho leaving Manchester City to Bellingham opting to head abroad, a number of young stars have made big calls during the early part of their careers and Neville appreciates that mindset, as he told beIN SPORTS (27/11/22 at 9:10 pm).
“I admire these lads that leave,” said Neville. “Sancho leaving (Manchester City), Musiala leaving (Chelsea). I think the fact that they are willing to go to Germany. To Dortmund and to Bayern Munich and experience that different level.
“Bellingham at Birmingham. Manchester United had Bellingham in the building. In front of all the top brass at Man United and he choose to go to Dortmund. But look at him now. You think of English players have stayed in England for far too long and we have a good league. But all the other players of other nationalities go and play in Spain, in Italy and have these great experiences and I think English players need to do that. I think Musiala, Bellingham and Sancho. Well done to them.
“Chelsea have Pulisic, Havertz, they had Werner, there are loads of them, isn’t there? Mount. Ziyech. Gallagher. They have five or six players in the position of Musiala’s, they are probably thinking ‘we are okay’. A year or two ago.
“Managers at Chelsea couldn’t wait two or three years to bring something through, anyway.”

MUSIALA PREMIER LEAGUE RETURN?
Musiala is playing for the biggest club in Germany, winning trophies, and titles, playing in the Champions League and also repping his country.
So, it might take something big to try and lure him away from his home and the comfortable environment he is in at Bayern and in Germany.
Bearing that in mind, there are strong rumours that Liverpool are keen to sign the thriving teenager and he would be a player that would elevate a struggling midfield on Merseyside, that’s for sure.
