Michael Dawson has said on Sky Sports News (1:03pm, January 15, 2022) that Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will sign a new contract with Spurs.
The former Tottenham central defender believes that Lloris will stay at the North London club beyond the end of the season.
The Sky Sports pundit and Tottenham Ambassador has been impressed by the performance of the 35-year-old goalkeeper for Antonio Conte’s side this season.
Lloris will become a free agent in the summer of 2022 and has been linked with moves away.
Tottenham head coach Conte told The Independent this month that talks between the club and Lloris over a new contract have started.
Dawson said about Lloris on Sky Sports News (1:03pm, January 15, 2022): “He has been really good. This year he has been 35, they are trying to tie him down to a new contract, that will happen.”
The Sky Sports pundit added: “It is vital to keep him.”

Hugo Lloris staying at Tottenham Hotspur is good
In our view, Lloris staying at Tottenham for another season is good for the North London club.
The 35-year-old is a very good goalkeeper who is hugely experienced and remains the first choice between the posts for Spurs.
Pierluigi Gollini is only on loan from Atalanta, and the 26-year-old former Aston Villa goalkeeper has been unable to get ahead of Lloris in the starting lineup.
It shows just how good Lloris is.
So, in our opinion, Tottenham should try to agree on a new one-year deal with Lloris and then start looking for a long-term replacement.
