Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was quizzed by reporters asking he if he has tried to persuade Thomas Lemar to leave Monaco and join him at club level.
Lemar made his first international start for Les Bleus against England in midweek, playing his part in a 3-2 friendly win in Paris.
Bookies SkyBet currently have Spurs odds on favourites to sign Lemar from the Ligue 1 champions, ahead of rivals Arsenal.
The Telegraph reports Lloris was asked if he has tried to convince Lemar to join him at Spurs, and replied diplomatically.
The paper reports: Lloris smiled and said: “You’re right to ask the question, but I cannot reply!”

Lemar scored a fantastic 14 goals and provided 14 assists last season for Monaco, even netting against Lloris in the Champions League.
Managing to convince Monaco to sell won’t be easy. They have already let Bernardo Silva leave for Manchester City, and are batting off serious approaches for Kylian Mbappe.

The Telegraph reported this week that Monaco will not let both Lemar and Tiemoue Bakayoko leave this summer, deciding only one will be sold. Bakayoko is on the verge of a move to Chelsea, The Mail report.
