After his heroics in the FA Cup Semi-Final, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been receiving plenty of attention, namely from Crystal Palace and West Ham.

Firstly, Crystal Palace co-owner Steve Parish surprisingly revealed that he would sign the 26-year-old, if the Eagles cannot re-sign Conor Gallagher.

Then, the Daily Mail claimed that West Ham have made the England international a target, as David Moyes aims to strengthen his squad.

What’s the story?

Well, if Crystal Palace or West Ham do get their hands on Loftus-Cheek this summer, Gary Lineker would surely give the move his seal of approval.

The BBC Match of the Day host once described the Chelsea No.12 as a “hugely talented” player, who he has watched since the age of 11.

Interestingly, Loftus-Cheek played in the same team as Lineker’s son Tobias in the Chelsea Academy, so the 61-year-old knows all about him.

You can see what Lineker has said about the £150,000-a-week man before below.

So far this season, Loftus-Cheek has made 33 appearances for Chelsea, scoring one goal while also providing five assists.

In our view, Loftus-Cheek would be given a position of seniority he’s never experienced before if he teams up with Patrick Vieira in SE25.

The south Londoners have a lot of young players who need guidance, such as Tyrick Mitchell, Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze and Marc Guéhi.

At the age of 26, Loftus-Cheek is far from old, but he is certainly experienced, having amassed ten caps for England, and 126 Premier League appearances.

If he joins the Eagles, he could act as a role model for these players, and help them with their development by sharing his experiences.

Keep an eye on this saga, as anything could happen this summer.
