Newcastle United will have to pay £50 million if they want to sign Nathan Ake from Manchester City in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.
The Sun have reported that Newcastle are interested in signing central defender Ake from Premier League rivals Manchester City.
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has made an inquiry about the Netherlands international already.
Howe wanted to sign Ake in January as well and asked about him then.
The Newcastle boss worked with the 27-year-old when he was the manager of Bournemouth.
Should Newcastle United pay £50 million for Nathan Ake?
In our view, Newcastle United should consider other options before splashing £50 million for Manchester City central defender Nathan Ake.
The 27-year-old is not a regular for City, and we do not think that he is worth £50 million now.

The Citizens paid Bournemouth £41 million for Ake in the summer of 2020.
We do not think that Ake has done enough to have his price go up to £50 million.
The 27-year-old made 10 starts in the Premier League and three starts in the Champions League for City this past season.
The £100,000-a-week (SalarySport) defender made nine starts in the Premier League and two appearances in the Champions League for the Citizens in 2020-21.
Now, of course, Ake is a very good defender who knows the Premier League and has worked under Howe.
But, in our view, he is not worth £50 million and Newcastle should not pay it.
