Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to Thierry Henry confirming that he is trying to be a part of a proposed takeover of the club.
The Highbury legend told Sky Sports that he was approached by Spotify owner, Daniel Ek, to be part of a consortium to try and buy Arsenal, along with other club legends such as Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira.
Henry added that Ek wants to put the ‘DNA of Arsenal’ back into the club following the decline of the North London giants under the Kroenke’s ownership.
This is what Arsenal fans want to hear, and with club legends on board, it does add that element of trust with Ek trying to push a deal through.
Of course, whilst Ek wants to buy the club and the likes of Henry wanting to put Arsenal back on the map, they need the American’s to sell up first.
That’s the hardest part is trying to get the Kroenke’s to budge because the signs suggest that they don’t want to sell.
If that’s the case then the recent protests from the Arsenal supporters will only continue and grow louder.
But the fact that Arsenal fans now know they have a club legend on board, it does increase that belief that something will happen and make them believe that Ek is genuine in what he wants to do.
Nonetheless, this is how Arsenal fans reacted to what Henry had to say about a potential takeover last night:
