Dillon Brooks has taken direct aim at Draymond Green, firing back at the Warriors veteran’s media presence while questioning where his priorities lie as an active player.
The Phoenix Suns wing did not mince his words when discussing Green’s growing role in the podcast space, turning a long-running on-court rivalry into a broader critique.
Brooks’ comments immediately reignited the debate around players balancing media ventures with performance.

Dillon Brooks calls out Draymond Green over podcast focus
Brooks addressed the issue in comments during N3on’s stream, shared on X by Fullcourt Pass, where he was asked about players producing podcasts during their playing careers.
“I be getting on dudes that want to do the podcast grind while they’re still playing… He [Green] talks too much for me. I’m saying they’re not good at basketball, so focus on hoops,” Brooks said.
The remark was a clear shot at Green, whose podcast has become one of the most visible player-led platforms in the NBA.
Rather than focusing on specific games or moments, Brooks framed his criticism around commitment and performance.
Draymond Green and Dillon Brooks’ rivalry has deep roots
The tension between Brooks and Green stretches back several seasons.
It became most visible during the 2022 NBA playoffs, when Brooks’ Memphis Grizzlies faced Green’s Golden State Warriors in a heated second-round series.
That matchup featured repeated verbal exchanges, physical play, and Brooks’ now-infamous “poke the bear” comments directed at the defending champions.
Green, a key part of four Warriors championship teams, responded at the time by questioning Brooks’ impact and playoff credentials.
Since then, the two have traded indirect jabs through interviews and media appearances, even after Brooks moved on from Memphis.
Brooks’ latest comments suggest that while the teams have changed, the personal edge has not. For both players, the back-and-forth has become part of a public rivalry that now extends beyond the court.
